Normally when we think of men with erection problems, we think about the embarrassing problem of not being able to get it up. But for men who suffer from the unfortunate condition known as Priapism, the exact opposite is the case. Fortunately, there are new breakthrough that could cure many men of this painful and dangerous condition. No longer to erection prone men have to give away their penis size so easily.

Priapism is a condition whereby men experience unwanted and painful erections (without any sexual stimuli) that just don’t go away. Often linked to blood diseases like sickle cell disease and leukemia, as well as to spinal chord trauma, this condition is fairly widespread. Previously, the most common treatment of Priapism was to physically drain the penis of blood. New studies are suggesting that an already FDP-approved drug called olyethylene glycol-linked adenosine deaminase (PEG-ADA) can be injected to treat the problem. PEG-ADA is traditionally used to treat a deficiency of the adenosine deaminase enzyme, which leads to Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease (SCID) AKA “Bubble Boy Disease.” Thanks, Bubble Boy! Full-fledged clinical studies have not been carried out however, so it could be little while before doctors will start prescribing PEG-ADA for this new purpose. But this news should provide new hope for men who suffer from Priapism.
